Job Description:

Technical Support Engineer

Thailand — Renewable Energy Sector

Recruitment partner: Evantis Talent Solutions

About Our Client

Evantis Talent Solutions is partnering with a global manufacturer in the clean-energy and power-electronics sector to appoint a Technical Support Engineer in Thailand. The hiring organisation operates internationally with a strong regional presence in Southeast Asia and supplies technology used in residential and commercial renewable-energy projects. The full client identity will be shared with shortlisted candidates under confidentiality.

The Role

This is a mid-level technical role supporting customers, distributors, and installers across Thailand. You will act as the in-country technical point of contact — helping design appropriate solutions, training partners, and resolving issues on existing installations. You will work closely with regional account managers and the international headquarters team.

Key Responsibilities

•     Provide first-line on-site and remote technical support to customers across assigned regions in Thailand.

•     Support system design for solar PV, battery storage and related accessories, using both proprietary and third-party design tools.

•     Deliver technical presentations alongside account managers to help progress and close opportunities.

•     Run technical training sessions for distributors, installers, customers, and internal teams.

•     Prepare local technical documentation including procedures, specifications, and presentations, adapted from headquarters materials.

•     Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across new and existing installations.

•     Handle service calls and after-sales technical requests in a timely, customer-focused way.

•     Support additional technical projects and assignments as directed by the regional management team.

Qualifications & Experience

•     Open to Thai nationals only. Candidates must already hold long-term legal working eligibility in Thailand; the hiring organisation is unable to sponsor work permits or social security registration.

•     Native or fluent Thai, with the ability to communicate confidently with local customers and deliver technical training to distributors and installers.

•     Strong business-level English is essential, for day-to-day collaboration with international colleagues, the regional team, and headquarters.

•     Approximately 3–5 years of hands-on experience in solar PV technical support, with a clear focus on residential applications.

•     Demonstrable experience in residential system design, solution configuration, commissioning, and after-sales technical support.

Required Skills

•     Solid working knowledge of solar modules, inverters, battery storage systems, mounting structures, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

•     Strong customer-service mindset, with the ability to advise installers and resolve technical issues efficiently.

•     Comfortable using common business tools such as ERP/SAP, Outlook, MS Teams, and CRM platforms.

•     Willingness to travel regularly within Thailand and occasionally to other markets in the region.

•     Comfortable working within an international, matrix-style organisation with headquarters teams in another time zone.

Preferred

•     Working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus, to support collaboration with headquarters technical teams.

•     Exposure to battery energy storage systems in a residential context.

•     Familiarity with Thailand’s electricity market regulations and renewable-energy incentive policies.

•     Flexibility for regular business travel.

•     Valid driver’s licence (frequent customer and site visits).

Important Information for Applicants

The successful candidate may be engaged through an authorised third-party HR partner; however, you will be recognised as a full member of the hiring organisation’s team.
