About the Role

A well-established specialist in the precious-metals recycling and recovery sector is growing its presence in Thailand and is looking for a Business Manager to drive commercial growth and supplier development across the country and neighbouring markets. Reporting to senior management, the role blends hands-on business development with relationship building, regulatory engagement and support for a growing local operation. It will suit a commercially driven professional who enjoys building networks and a market presence from the ground up.

- Based in Bangkok, with regular travel across Thailand and nearby markets

- Full-time, permanent

- Salary: THB 60,000-80,000 per month (depending on experience)

What You'll Do

Business Development & Market Growth

- Identify and develop new supply opportunities for catalytic converters and other precious-metal-bearing recyclable materials.

- Grow and diversify the supplier network across Thailand and the wider region.

- Carry out regular market visits to uncover opportunities and deepen industry relationships.

- Shape and deliver growth strategies that meet sourcing and revenue targets.

- Keep a close eye on market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.

- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of suppliers and prospects.

Supplier & Partner Relationships

- Develop lasting relationships with suppliers, traders, recyclers, workshops, dismantlers and strategic partners.

- Negotiate commercial terms and agreements that work for all sides.

- Design supplier engagement programmes that secure reliable, long-term material supply.

- Resolve commercial issues quickly and keep supplier confidence high.

Strategic Partnerships & Industry Presence

- Identify and build partnerships that support business growth.

- Represent the business at industry events, trade exhibitions and meetings.

- Establish and maintain relationships with key industry bodies and associations.

- Raise the company's profile within the recycling and precious-metals community.

Regulatory & Government Engagement

- Build a working understanding of relevant Thai regulations and compliance requirements.

- Liaise with government agencies, regulators, customs authorities and industry bodies as needed.

- Support management on licensing, permits and other regulatory matters.

- Track regulatory developments and flag anything that could affect operations.

Local Operations Support

- Partner with management to support the set-up and growth of the local operation.

- Help shape local business processes, external networks and market presence.

- Advise on local business practices, market conditions and growth opportunities.

- Contribute to special projects tied to the company's expansion in Thailand.

Reporting & Planning

- Produce regular updates on business development, market intelligence and supplier activity.

- Keep accurate records of supplier and customer engagement.

- Track performance against growth and sourcing targets.

- Share market insights and recommendations with management.

What We're Looking For

- Fluent in both English and Thai, spoken and written (the role liaises daily across both languages).

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Chemistry, Metallurgy or a related field.

- At least 5 years' experience in business development, sourcing, procurement, recycling, metals, automotive or a related industry.

- A proven track record in winning new business, acquiring suppliers and expanding into new markets.

- Strong networking, negotiation and relationship-management skills.

- Confident communicating with senior leadership, international partners, suppliers and government bodies.

- A solid grasp of Thai business regulations and commercial practice.

- Experience dealing with government authorities, regulators or industry associations is a plus.

- Exposure to setting up or scaling a new operation would be an advantage.

- Willing to travel extensively within Thailand and the region.

- Self-starting, proactive and results-focused, with the ability to work independently.
